The FutureEverything Award
“The FutureEverything Award celebrates the creative imagination that will shape our future.“

The FutureEverything Award recognises outstanding achievement for innovation in art, society & technology. It celebrates creative projects in any medium that offer a new and unique way to experience or see the world and help to bring the future into the present.
The winner receives a £10,000 cash prize and the FutureEverything Trophy.
Criteria
Projects will be assessed against the following criteria:
Excellence
The overall quality and merit of the submission.
Significance
Does it enhance knowledge and practice in art, design, digital media or social innovation?
Relevance
Relevance to FutureEverything’s themes of society, technology, environment and the city.
Originality
Is the project a new piece of work? Is it original and distinctive?
Coherence and Rigour
Artistic or intellectual precision, method and integrity.
The Jury, Voting Process and Awards Ceremony
The prize is awarded following a rigorous and transparent assessment process.
- All submissions are reviewed by an international Advisory Panel and a longlist of 20 applicants established.
- An International Jury of leading practitioners and scholars from relevant fields define a shortlist of three outstanding projects.
- The winner is decided through an open vote by members of the FutureEverything Community – FutureEverything’s world wide community of past festival participants, speakers and delegates.
- The Award is presented at an Awards Ceremony – a Gala event staged during the FutureEverything festival, also featuring presentations of the winner and runners up, and a world class curated programme of performance and presentations.

- FutureEverything is an art, technology and social innovation organisation established in 1995 that runs year-round innovation labs and an annual festival of art, music and ideas.
- ImaginationLancaster is a centre of excellence for research in art and design rated amongst the top 3 in the UK where emphasis is placed on productive collaborations to create desirable and sustainable futures.
The FutureEverything Community
The FutureEverything Community is at the heart of everything we do. It is the world wide community of creative visionaries who have participated over the past 15 years in the FutureEverything Festival and Conference, and the artists, scientists, thinkers and makers who take part in the FutureEverything Labs we run year round.
Award 2010 Winner – The EyeWriter
The EyeWriter was chosen as the 2010 winner of the inaugural FutureEverything Award. An outstanding project, The EyeWriter demonstrates extraordinary creativity, imagination and ingenuity.

The inaugural FutureEverything Award 2010 celebrated the outstanding innovation of the winner and runners up, following a rigorous jury process and an online vote by the global FutureEverything community.
Benefits of the Award
The winners receive the new FutureEverything Trophy, a £10,000 cash prize, and the opportunity to present their project at the FutureEverything festival and within the FutureEverything catalogue and communications.
The award promotes world-class innovation and introduce the leading practitioners to stakeholders and the wider public, helping to promote and foster innovation culture in the UK and around the world. There are further opportunities throughout the year for the holder of the Award.
The Award Ceremony and Exhibition
The Award Gala will take place during the FutureEverything Festival, 11-14 May 2011 in Manchester, UK.
The FutureEverything festival will present the winners, either within the exhibition or the conference, in the form of a full project presentation, talk or project documentation.
